Hi Everyone,

EFTel is in the process of expanding their BroadbandNext network. Wherever possible we are migrating EFTel and aaNet members onto the BroadbandNext network so that we are in a position to provide as many members with ADSL2+ as soon as possible. This is an exciting time for EFTel and aaNet and we are looking forward to providing as many of our members as possible with the benefits of ADSL2+.

Approximately 75% of the members in areas where migrations are possible, have already been migrated and the vast majority of members migrated have experienced no difficulties as a result of the migrations. There are of course some members who have experienced a change in performance due to the different equipment that they are now connecting to and we are actively working to alleviate these issues as quickly as possible.

If you have received any negative performance as a result of the migrations, it is very important to confirm that your router is using PPPoE LLC to connect. Equally important is to ensure that your PC is set to use an MTU size of 1492. I have included a link below to a helpful Netgear article which explains how to make this change.

Obviously if problems persist after making these changes, or you are unable to make these changes, the best course of action is to lodge a support request.

Based on member feedback, we have also improved the communications to members leading up to their service being migrated onto the BroadbandNext network. The communication to members will now be much more explicit about what exactly is occurring and will include advice regarding PPPoE LLC and MTU sizes.

If anyone has any questions at all, please just let me know.

Thanks,
Ryan
