This is an update as promised. The 3 ADSL2 suppliers we were undergoing talks with have failed to bring any substantial gain to aaNet and its customers in the shorter term.

We have currently aquired DSLAMs and hope to begin a trial in the next 3 months or so in both Melbourne and Brisbane. Sydney will be further down the track.

We dont know if this is the answer and it is just toe in the water stage. We are told there is a 3 month wait on Telstra provisioning that cannot be shortened. We do have the numbers to make this work.

Having said all that, I am really talking as a beginner here so bear with me when I make mistakes because it is a certain.

Hi Cat

Thanks for the update.

Surely there must be interested members with the knowledge of the equipment and even of the background of high level negotiations to support the operation. How do we find them ? Is this forum an avenue ? I hope so.

May the force be with us.

Unfortunatley it is not the technical side we have a problem with, moreover all the policies and proceedures within government and Telstra.

Hi People, I just thought I would let you know these DSLAMs have arrived on our shores or rather to be explicit the ports have and everything so far is running smoothly.

We are just trying to get our hands on some raw fiber access ... If you wonder where I have been this has kept me pretty busy

Saying this, to get an update is at least an update and keeps us informed.

Thanks for the update!

Hi Zone, we have a few paperwork roadblocks that should be resolved by COB today, then it is full steam ahead planning for the first DSLAM install, which will be in Brisbane, with the rest to follow soon after.
