Hi aaNetters,

I would like to wish you all a belated merry Christmas and a happy New Year. I would like to thank all those customers who steadfastly stood up for aaNet in 2005 when things were not going as well as we might wish. The strength of charactor and resolve displayed was well noted and made me proud of many of you.

2006 is going to be a better year for aaNet with ADSL DSLAM rollout on target for around March. The plans for the rollout have changed in some regard and the rollout will be done by a third party company.

aaNet was started on a wing and a prayer with the desire to be the best ISP, in a market that did not offer a lot of choices in some locations. Over the time we have built an excellent network and I would hope you all agree we have done this without sacrifice to our customers in any form. The aaNet team really did try to give you the very best possible.

Now it saddens me to say aaNet has been sold. I have eye problems that affect my health and I am very tired of the implications and family pressure associated with running an ISP. I will be around untill the takeover in May when we expect the court proceedings to be finished.

Offers have been made for aaNet in the past and although it is true I would have liked to walk away many times, the companies did not fit a mould suitable for our customers. You have all been looked after, I made sure of it.

The fact that aaNet has grown so large in such a short time and managed to roll out the Network infrastructre we have, is a credit to you, I mean all of you. We didnt do this, you did. aaNet, really is the peoples network and the task would have been impossible without you. I hope we have listened enough to make it the way you want.

I made a promise and I havent forgotten, that the untruths about aaNet would be set right. Currently there is a supeona issued by the court to Telstra Wholesale with a return date of the 26th of January 2006 that is expected to exonerate aaNet from any wrong doing.

I would like to appologise aslo for not being around very much in the last few weeks.

Take care and look after yourselves in 2006. I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart.

Cheers Cat

Thank you for all the customer support ( though I never had many problems) and will Gerald still be working in aaNet/.Netcall?

Thank you for making aanet such a great place to be. I have only been with you for a few months but couldn't be happier.
Health is everything so understand why you need to sell.
Hope all goes well for you in the future.

Lorraine, May I say it has been an absolute pleasure to know you and along with Donna to have helped you with your dreams of having the best ISP in OZ....
You can be very proud of what you have acheived over the last 2 years and for the hard work and many hours of dedication you have put into aaNet. Very few people can start something from scratch and create a first class business with the success you have had which makes you a very special person indeed !
I am very proud to have met you and for the opportunity for Donna to have worked alongside you...

I wish you a very prosporous future and good health...

Mitte.

I feel sad, a sense of great loss. Like losing part of the family. :(

Good luck to you and your family Lorraine. I wish you all the very best and thank you for a very great service that you started here.

Good luck for the future Lorraine.

It saddens me also.

A new company running the ISP is scary... Because it's basically giving them full control.. But I trust you've chosen someone who won't come in and go "Right team... Let's charge everyone $50 more than what they are paying now."

That said.. I feel I will probably move on from aaNet in the future. Good deals pursuade me (aaNet's 1500Sp plan persuaded me from another ISP after all ;)), and it's really a case of who gets ADSL 2+ to my exchange the fastest and at the best price.

well i for one hope that things improve with new management.

while i have never questioned the reliability and stability of my connection with aaNet i believe the management practices have left a lot to be desired.

will be interesting to see who the buyer is.

Well Cat this in deed sad news but from a personal point of view it must be one of relief.

I think you have achieved what no other ISP has done. You have put loyalty, and creditability as No. 1. That is something that I have always admired my dealings with aaNET. The consultation with the users was something that only happened with aaNET.

I know from personal experience (currently being experienced) that your personal health (both physical and mental) is very very important. I think you have made a good decision.

I wish you health and happiness in your continuation of life's journey.

Thanks, Cat, for having provided us with a trouble-free connection for the last ten months at a very reasonable price. I had an inkling that something was up when you stopped participating in the forums. Health and family are some of the most important things in life, so I respect your decision to sell the business.

Thanks for everything and all the best to you and your family for 2006! I also apologise for any headaches I may have caused you through my outspokenness. :)

Mark

I am looking forward to a few months of speculation...NOT!
Shall we have a poll, then?
I think it would be better for Cat to just tell us, otherwise rumours will abound and potentially hurt the business.

Hmmm... People Telekom... Could they offer similar prices to us?
If they could not, customers would flee...
Paying for 10 thousand and to be left with 1 thousand...

That may well be the case. A favourable outcome of the court case might be a condition of the sale.

Their cheapest 512 plan is $40, $8 more than I pay now.
